Thanksgiving a Worthless Holiday?

The United States holiday Thanksgiving , is supposed to be a time when we remeber when the Native Americans brought the settlers food and helped them surrvive the harsh winter. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED. Now a days we take time off of work (a good thing) to travel to or be visited by relatives that most of we can not stand. Family members that we despise who do not speak to but bitch about the rest of the year but we must spend this 1 sacred day with. We spend a weeks paycheck buying food for this one day that people are just going to complain about. spend two days slaving over a hot stove to prepare this feast of turkey, potatoes, corn, stuffing, pie etc. Then we all sit around a table and say a prayer of thanks that none of us really mean, then consume three times what we would normally eat worth of food in one sitting, lean back and bitch that we ate too much then ask for pie. Got the family members that sit around the TV yelling at the football game (like that will change the outcome) that most of could care less about. Then we all sit around and bitch about how pathetic our lives have been over the last year, what our goals are for the next. Tell each other what we want for christmas which they wont buy you what you want anyway. Then split up the leftovers that we wont eat say goodbye to all our loved ones and headed to our own respected homes complaining the the whole how we cant stand certain people and wonder why we continue to do this every year. Then you have Black Friday which is more sacred to most then Thanksgiving. but thats a different post.
